Coach Beaton and Coach Leigh offered my son, Patrick, an opportunity to play football his post grad year at Williston. It was an amazing experience with great coaches, trainers, and teammates. Williston gave him the second chance he needed after an injury in high school. He was successfully recruited to play D1 football in our home state of Louisiana. Go Ragin’ Cajuns!

In honor of The Shepardson Family
I was a day student that commuted from South Hadley to Williston for six years (started in 7th grade). My daily trajectory if my mom was not driving was to take the 7:20 bus to Elmwood in Holyoke, walk to the house where the Shepardsons lived, get in the back seat of Mr. Shepardson’s 1939 Plymouth Business Coupe, and ride with him and his son Philip to Williston, We usually arrived by 8 AM, in time for classes. With my mom, we were usually a bit later, but still, we got there. After sports in the afternoon we would reverse the process and I would be home on the 6:50 bus. Philip and I were friends and had a good time talking about things at school. Mr. Shepard on was the Director of Admissions, Harvard graduate, French language and literature scholar, inveterate smoker, and always wore a suit and tie and always had a positive attitude. His wife’s name was Olive and she was charming as well. The entire family was a model family and hadva very positive influence on me Great Americans.

Endless doors were opened. There is no way to list them all! I would not be the person I am today if I had never attended Williston. It taught me to be confident, reach for the stars, listen to others, and celebrate all accomplishments, big and small. I dedicate this donation to my father who passed away in April 2025. If not for his encouragement and support to attend, I would not have found the lasting friendships I have and my Willy family.

Thank you to my mother for allowing me the opportunity to go to The Williston Northampton School. It completely changed the trajectory of my life. It provided me stability, academic rigor, sports excellence and incredibly talented and dedicated staff staff and teachers. I made lifelong friends that I love. Wow. You are seriously sexist. What year are you in, 1950? Maiden name, alumni, "NSFG Campus" -- We are not generic. We know what dorm we lived in. Or maybe we're old and don't donate much, so it doesn't matter where we lived. Other educational institutions ask for your name when you were in school, so your identity isn't chained to a man when you were a "maiden." "Alums" instead of "Alumni" doesn't subsume and negate Alumnae. Otherwise, have a nice day.
