CHS Giving Day 2021
All in for CHS!
Wow! Giving Day 2021 was a true display of our community’s belief in our school and all the work our teachers, students, and staff have put in this and every school year since 1860. THANK YOU FOR BEING ALL IN FOR CHS!
Each Fall, our 6th graders have the opportunity to go on a very special field trip to The Farm School. While heading out there wasn't an option for us in September, we are happy to say that with time, planning, and a little bit of heart, our 6th grade Hawks are off to the Farm School!
Seven year old Lena learns in a painting lesson that to make the color brown she’ll need to mix together several different colors. She walks with her mother through their neighborhood meeting friends and observing many shades of brown. She realizes that every shade is beautiful! This thoughtful picture book is one the whole family will enjoy!
Pre-K spent time today experimenting with colors in the rain.
All in, All year. Our students have found meaning and connection while learning both in-person and remotely. It has been a year like no other, support our students learning and the academic program at CHS on or before May 6th for CHS' Giving Day 2021.
Are you ready to go ALL IN FOR CHS?! Help us beat our goal of 100 donors by the end of the day tomorrow on our Boost my School page (link in bio) and to receive access to day-long coverage of May Madness 2021!
For over 25 years, The Chestnut Hill School community has gathered donations and assembled spring gift baskets to honor the mothers residing in the St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children in East Boston. This shelter serves an incredibly diverse population and supports families as they move from homelessness to independent living and self-sufficiency.
This tradition began in 1995, when a member of our community lived at the shelter with her young children and was gifted a rose on Mother's Day. This thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated, and when this experience was shared with the CHS community, the Mother’s Day Basket project began.
Each year, CHS students assemble over 40 baskets filled with toiletries. The baskets are then distributed to the mothers currently residing in the East Boston shelter. We also send a basket to our former trustee, parent, and vibrant member of our community who was the former shelter resident and founding member of this community project.
We cannot continue this tradition without your help! All in, All year. As a community, we have triumphantly met the challenges of COVID-19. Teachers continue to be thoughtful, creating joy and engagement. Administrators, Nurse Bloomberg and the facilities staff have nimbly made adjustments to keep our community comfortable and safe. Parents have shown an extraordinary amount of trust and developed strong partnerships with the school to ensure that the physical safety, emotional health, and academic needs of our students are being met. It has been a year like no other, we hope that we can count on your continued support on or before May 6th for CHS' Giving Day 2021.
