In memory of Francis V Kloecker Sr.
My father graduated from Cathedral PREP in 1926. His great great grandaughter Ava Kloecker will graduate in 2026, 100 years later. And she is also the first female member of the Kloecker family to graduate from Cathedral Prep

My mother was a Catholic grade school science teacher whose pay check funded the Catholic school tuition for my sister and myself. A Catholic education was that important. Her legacy lives on in her five grandchildren, all of whom have attended Cathedral Prep or Villa. It is that important.

I will be thinking about the Mary's Day tradition at Villa (including at the school my mother attended on W. 8th and Liberty) today and at Villa where my youngest son graduated in 1996. I was so proud to have my son follow in footsteps and learn the values Villa instilled in my grandmother, my mother, my three sisters and me.
