Steve when talking to a student’s parent at the teacher appreciation breakfast: Parent: “Steve, I heard you dissected a chicken in class yesterday” Steve: “yeh. When I woke up in the morning one of my chickens had died so I thought I’d bring it into class and make a history and science lesson with it. We dissected it then mummified it” Parent: “awesome” me: new parent of preK/lower school kids at the time, thought bubble: “ my gosh a teacher whose first thought that morning was how to use a dead chicken in a cool way for his students, an administration that lets a teacher bring a dead chicken to school and a parent excited that a teacher brought a dead chicken to school! Something special goes on at this place. Thank you Steve.

In our minds, as both past parents and former colleagues of Steve, he is WITHOUT A DOUBT one of the giants of Pine Point. His approach, work, and contributions were all achieved in a very quiet manner. He mentored children and guided them on the path to young adulthood. We look forward to attending the gathering to honor his extraordinary service, commitment and excellence. -David and Jane Hannon

Thank you Erin and Steve for the amazing impact you’ve had on generations of Pine Point students including my two grandchildren!

Mr. Brown and Ms. Call, who knew Middle School could be so much fun!?! From raising baby chicks and navigating Boston to designing international cottages and developing leadership skills at weekly meetings, you recognized the unique strengths of each of our children and helped them grow into confident learners. Your commitment, enthusiasm, and belief in their potential have made all the difference, and we are grateful.
