The Fund for Teaching Excellence
Honoring Steve Brown and Erin Call
What is the endowment?
Pine Point’s Endowment is made up of many individual funds, and is invested to generate annual income, ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of our school. Gifts to the endowment strengthen our programs for the future by providing a stable source of funding for academic innovation, faculty excellence and student experiences.
What does the endowment support?
The endowment supports the entire program and the operating budget each year. In line with best practices for non-profit independent schools, the Board of Trustees votes to draw down the endowment at a rate of 4-5% each year. There are specific endowment funds that are restricted to support particular areas of our program (arts, athletics, learning support), but most of the endowment is unrestricted.
How much is the current endowment?
The current endowment is just over $6.2 million. With annual draw that averages 4-5%, our endowment provides close to $300,000 in support of our program each year.
What is the Fund for Teaching Excellence?
The Fund for Teaching Excellence is an endowment fund established to honor Pine Point faculty members. This fund has raised over $340,000 to provide direct support to our entire faculty and program.
How does giving to the endowment help sustain Pine Point for future generations?
By donating to an endowment fund, you help preserve the school’s legacy by maintaining our campus, facilities, and natural environment for future generations. In addition, you help increase accessibility by providing resources for need-based financial aid, helping Pine Point remain a welcoming community for a diverse range of students and families.
By growing the endowment, Pine Point can plan with confidence, adapt to new opportunities, and ensure that the next generation of students continues to thrive.
