Q:

What is Salute to Youth?

A:

Salute to Youth is one of Marmion Academy’s most cherished traditions, bringing together our senior students, their families, alumni, friends, and supporters for an unforgettable evening celebrating the graduating class.

The tradition of Salute to Youth dates back more than six decades. What began as a celebration of Marmion’s senior class has grown into a signature Marmion event that recognizes the accomplishments, friendships, and experiences that have shaped our students during their time at the Academy.

The evening features a formal dinner, dancing, student presentations, the Court of Honor and Guard of Honor, and plenty of opportunities for families and friends to celebrate together. Most importantly, Salute is a night dedicated to our seniors and the people who have supported them along the way.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What does the evening include?

A:

Salute to Youth is an evening filled with meaningful traditions, great food, and plenty of time to celebrate with family and friends.

The evening includes a formal four-course dinner, student remarks and presentations, the Presentation Dance, Parents’ Dance, a live band for dancing, an open bar and wine service for adult guests, and a non-alcoholic bar with soft drinks for students.

The formal Presentation of the Guard and Court of Honor is one of the highlights of the evening. The Guard of Honor is comprised of Marmion senior boys, while the Court of Honor is the group of young ladies they escort for the evening.

Each year, a senior student is also invited to speak about their class, their experiences at Marmion, and their hopes for the future.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

Who is invited to attend Salute to Youth?

A:

Anyone who would like to celebrate and support Marmion’s students is welcome at Salute to Youth! You do not need to have a Marmion senior in your family or have another direct connection to Marmion to attend.

Senior families are encouraged to invite grandparents, extended family, friends, mentors, business partners, sponsors, alumni, and other members of the community who would enjoy being part of this special evening. Whether you are there to celebrate a particular student or simply to support Marmion and its students, you are welcome.

Salute to Youth is a 21+ event and is intended specifically to celebrate the senior class. For that reason, current Marmion students who are not seniors may not attend, with the exception of those attending as a date of a senior participating in the evening. If you have questions about this age restriction or bringing a guest that is 18+, please email Jessica Brown at [email protected]

Your attendance also supports Marmion. Proceeds from Salute to Youth benefit the Marmion Fund, which provides flexible support for the Academy’s highest-priority needs and helps strengthen the educational experience and opportunities available to Marmion students.

Come celebrate our seniors, enjoy a wonderful evening, and help support the future of Marmion!

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What should I wear?

A:

Salute to Youth is a formal event. Guests should plan to wear formal evening attire.

Floor-length dresses and heels are very common, while tuxedos and nice suits are appropriate for gentlemen. Most importantly, wear shoes you can dance in!

CLICK HERE to view photos from Salute to Youth 2026 to get an idea of what guests wore last year.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What do the students wear?

A:

Students receive specific attire guidelines from Marmion before the event. Young ladies are provided with detailed dress guidelines, while the Guard of Honor tuxedos are coordinated through Men’s Wearhouse.

All student information, including dress expectations, tuxedo details, fittings, and other requirements, will be provided directly to the students.

GIRLS DRESS REQUIREMENTS can be found here or please visit marmion.org/event/salute-to-youth to learn more.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

When do I need to RSVP, and what is included with my ticket?

A:

The RSVP deadline is April 6, 2027.

Your Salute to Youth ticket includes the full evening’s festivities and a four-course dinner featuring salad, intermezzo, entrée, dessert, and coffee service. Adult guests also enjoy an open bar and wine service with dinner, while students have their own non-alcoholic bar with soft drinks.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

Can I sit with specific people or reserve a table?

A:

Yes! Seating requests can be included when you RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate requests when creating the seating plan.

If you already have a group of 10 who would like to sit together, you can purchase a table of 10 and guarantee that your group will be seated together. When purchasing your table, you will need the names of all 10 guests, along with their meal selections and any allergies or dietary restrictions.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What if I have an allergy or dietary restriction?

A:

Allergies and dietary restrictions should be provided during the RSVP process. This information is collected and shared with our culinary team so appropriate accommodations can be made.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

I am a senior parent and would like to attend, but I need financial assistance. What should I do?

A:

We want ALL of our seniors to be at Salute and ALL of their parents to have the opportunity to be part of this special night celebrating them.

Thanks to the generosity of Salute sponsors and supporters, some tickets are sponsored so that a senior parent can attend. If the cost of attending would prevent you from joining us, please contact Jessica Brown at [email protected]. All requests will be handled privately and respectfully.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What if my daughter is interested in attending but does not already have a date or know a Marmion senior?

A:

If a young lady is interested in attending but does not already know a Marmion senior, she can complete our Court of Honor Interest Form to be included on a list of young ladies interested in attending. Young ladies from high school juniors through college sophomores are invited to attend Salute to Youth as members of the Court of Honor. Submitting the form does not guarantee attendance or assign her to a particular senior. It simply allows us to know who is interested and helps facilitate connections with Marmion seniors.

Interested in learning more or joining the list? CLICK HERE to visit the Court of Honor Interest page and complete the form.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

What should I know about parking, coats, and other event logistics?

A:

Parking is available at the venue for Salute to Youth guests. We do offer an open bar and want everyone to travel safely- please consider rideshare options to get to and from Salute! It is also worth noting, Drury Lane has shows on Saturdays, so the parking lot may be busy.

A coat check will be available if weather conditions make it necessary.

Additional information about arrival, the evening’s schedule, and other event logistics will be provided, if necessary, to registered guests as the event approaches.

-———————————————————————-

Q:

Who can I contact if I still have questions?

A:

We’re happy to help! For questions about Salute to Youth, registration, seating, student participation, sponsorships, or financial assistance, please contact Jessica Brown at [email protected].
