About
Salute to Youth: A Marmion Tradition Since 1959
For more than six decades, Salute to Youth has brought the Marmion community together for an unforgettable evening celebrating our seniors and supporting the future of Marmion Academy.
What began in 1959 at Marmion Military Academy as a major fundraising event to help support Marmion’s operating needs eventually grew into the Salute to Youth tradition we know today. In 1963, the modern Salute to Youth was born, combining the celebration of Marmion’s senior class with an evening of dinner, dancing, friendship and philanthropy. Over the years, Salute has become one of Marmion’s most cherished traditions and an important source of support for the Academy.
Today, Salute to Youth brings together Marmion parents, past parents, alumni and friends for an elegant evening at Drury Lane featuring a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, the formal presentation of the Guard and Court of Honor, the Presentation Dance, student remarks and dancing to live music. Most importantly, the evening gives our community an opportunity to come together in celebration of the young people who represent Marmion’s past, present and future!
As we prepare for our 64th annual Salute to Youth, we invite the entire Marmion community to help make this year’s event especially meaningful. This night is an opportunity to rally together in support of this beloved tradition and help raise additional funds that directly benefit Marmion Academy.
Whether you have attended Salute for decades or are experiencing this special tradition for the first time, your participation makes a difference. Thank you for helping us celebrate our seniors, continue a tradition that began more than 60 years ago, and invest in the future of Marmion.
