"Prom" gives me flashbacks—and not the good kind...
We know “prom” can bring up all kinds of feelings and memories, not all good. Historically, Prom has been experienced as a very heteronormative and exclusionary ritual that creates anxiety over appearances, dates, and popularity. We hope to create a better association. Friends in Bloom is a Prom for EVERYONE. Come stag. Come as you are. You will be welcomed joyfully! At GSFS, we aim to see and know every human in this community. We celebrate you, however you choose (or don’t choose) to show up.
I have another question!
If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the Prom Committee ([email protected]).
