Grandparents Day 2026 – The GRAND Tailgate!

Rather than our traditional February date, we’re changing it up this year to accommodate our growing campus by hosting the celebration on Friday, November 13th. The day will follow a tailgate‑style format, inviting grandparents and grand‑friends to enjoy a relaxed, festive time together. Grandparents will still be able to visit classrooms and activities that highlight what makes classical education unique—a chance to see firsthand how timeless learning comes alive at Franklin Classical School.

This year’s event will focus primarily on activities geared exclusively toward grandparents for K-5th, but 6th-12th will still be able to show grandparents their classrooms and share lunch together. Dress in your favorite sports team wear, bring your pop-up chairs, thermos of coffee, and feel free to bring items to share with others. As cars settle before student activities begin, enjoy time tailgating, visiting with fellow grandparents, and soaking in the community spirit.

Please dress in layers for comfort and the potential for chilly weather. Because this event follows a tailgate‑style setup in our parking lot, there is no power or water access, and families should plan to be self‑sufficient. Fret not, restrooms inside the building will be available and there will be time together to see student classrooms. Putting up a personal tent and grilling is welcome as long as your setup is independent and does not require campus utilities. As always, no tobacco, alcohol, or firearms are permitted on campus.

For those who prefer to keep things simple, feel free to set up a couple of chairs, wrap up in a cozy blanket, and enjoy the morning at your own pace. We’ve also made lunch easy — food trucks will be available onsite, giving both grandparents and students the option to purchase lunch without needing to pack anything. Grandparents are welcome to bring cornhole or other games they wish to play with the students.
