Thank you everyone for a great first day of our third annual Black & Gold Giving Challenge. We are ending the day having raised $116,764 from 215 donors, and are thrilled that our students will get to kick-off Day 2 ringing the bell on the way into school.
If you haven’t joined us yet or have a little more to give, we hope you will help us raise another $100,000, so we can see Mr. Parker rock a new black and gold hairdo.
Consider doubling your impact by making a gift of $378 or adding to a gift you made yesterday to reach a total of $378. A generous family will match all gifts of $378 for our 378 reasons–the teachers and students who make TCS such a special place to learn and grow–up to a total of $10,000. Make your generosity go twice as far and your impact even greater.

We are excited to launch our third annual Black & Gold Giving Challenge where we come together as a TCS community to give in support of the Cougar Fund. The Cougar Fund plays a critical role in making the TCS experience possible for our 378 students and teachers. Those 378 students and teachers are 378 of the countless reasons to give over our 1,934 minute Giving Challenge.
Your gift to the Cougar Fund supports the “right start” for each of our students and the elements of the Country School experience that make that start so valuable in preparing every student for each next stage of their future. Join us before Thursday, October 9 at 3:59 pm for a little Black and Gold competition and camaraderie as we strive toward our total Cougar Fund goal of $550,000. Make your gift or pledge today, and let’s see what we can accomplish TOGETHER.
Challenges and Incentives: Your PARTICIPATION Matters!
$378 for 378 Reasons: Make a gift of $378 to celebrate the 378 reasons–our students and teachers–to give to the Cougar Fund. Each gift of $378 will be matched up to $10,000 by a generous TCS family.
Give Early: Each of our first 50 donors will be entered into a drawing for an epic TCS swag bag!
Cookies with the Cougar: Every lower school homeroom and upper school grade level that achieves 80% parent participation will get a visit from the Cougar and Mr. Parker for cookies and story time in the lower school and a visit from the Cougar for cookies and a game at PE.
Extended Recess and a Dress Down Day: If we achieve 90% parent participation schoolwide, the whole school will get extended recess and a dress down day.
Ring the Bell: If we raise a total of $100,000 on Wednesday, every student will get to ring the bell on the way into the school on Thursday morning.
Dye Mr. Parker’s Hair: If we raise a total of $200,000 during the challenge, Mr. Parker will dye his hair black and gold!
Black vs. Gold: Points will be added to the Nils Anderson Trophy count for every gift made on behalf of Team Black and every gift made on behalf of Team Gold.
