The "Years Since Hayes" Young Alumni Initiative
Starting in 2026, taxpayers who take the standard deduction (which includes most young professionals) can now deduct up to $1,000 (if single) or $2,000 (if married) in charitable donations—even without itemizing. That means any donation you make to Cardinal Hayes could reduce your taxable income.
Here’s our idea:
Donate $5 for every year since you graduated from Hayes.
It’s a small, meaningful way to stay connected and give back.
Class of 2021? That’s just $25.
Class of 2019? You’re in for $35.
Class of 2024? Just $10.
This “Years Since Hayes” initiative is designed for you—young alumni who want to start giving back without feeling overwhelmed financially.

We are a community based on Roman Catholic values to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students’ spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
