The Winchendon School Centennial Weekend

Begin your Centennial weekend by checking in, picking up your name badge, room key (if staying in dorms), and welcome materials from 4:00-9:00 PM.

Celebrate the start of the Centennial with bowling, music, food, and drinks at The Hub. Enjoy a fun, relaxed evening with classmates, family, and friends as we welcome you back to town. Tonight is on us! There is no fee to attend, but we do ask that you register so that we can plan accordingly!

Kick off Centennial weekend with a live outdoor concert by the Adam Ezra Group at the beautiful Robinson & Broadhurst Performing Arts Amphitheater. Known for their heartfelt Americana sound and energetic, community-centered performances, the band has built a loyal following across New England and beyond. Their shows are joyful, participatory experiences where audiences sing along and connect through music.

The amphitheater sits within Winchendon Community Park, a 43-acre property overlooking Whitney Pond that was once the site of Engliside, a historic property owned by The Winchendon School. In 2015, the school transferred the land to the Town of Winchendon in exchange for the Marvin School Building on Ash Street. The amphitheater itself opened in 2023 thanks to a multi-million-dollar gift from the Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation and now hosts concerts, festivals, and community events throughout the year.

Excited to keep the party going? Head to The Shoppe, Winchendon’s very own speakeasy. Enjoy complimentary Buff Chic Calzones from Gabby’s and a cash bar. Don’t miss this opportunity to come to this members-only club! 21+ only, please.

Start your Saturday with a continental breakfast in the Dining Hall, offering grab-and-go options to fuel your day of Centennial festivities.

Take a guided tour of campus and see how Winchendon has grown and changed over the years. Tours generally take about 30 minutes and are available mid-morning with sign-ups encouraged to ensure space with our volunteer guides. Tours will depart at 10:00, 10:30, and 11:00.

Take me out to the ballgame with a fun softball game on Winchendon’s brand new turf field. Kids ages 6–12 will play first, followed by older players. Registration includes a free T-shirt, with Centennial hats available for purchase. Don’t forget to choose your team captain!

Drop by the art studio for a creative, hands-on experience. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to try something new, this open studio time offers a chance to make something memorable during the Centennial weekend.

All you can eat barbeque fare!

Celebrate outstanding members of the Winchendon community as we induct new members into the Marr Family Athletic Hall of Fame.

Gather with friends and classmates for cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres before dinner. Weather permitting, this reception will be held outdoors on Dockery Commons; otherwise, it will move indoors to a nearby campus location.

Dinner & Dancing (6:00–9:00 PM)

Enjoy a festive Centennial dinner followed by dancing, toasts, and celebration. The evening will feature family-style dining, entertainment, and multimedia highlights from Winchendon’s history. We are incredibly honored to welcome alumni band Watchfire (formerly Sláinte) to Faculty Hall for this special night.

Need a little pick me up after last night’s festivities? Join us for breakfast at Faculty Hall.

Close out the weekend with a trip to see the Boston Red Sox alongside your fellow Wapiti, new and old! Tickets are reserved in a special section exclusively for the The Winchendon School community, making it a true Centennial send-off. Even better, the game will be featured as ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, so you might just spot some Winchendon pride on national television.

Tee off for a great cause at the 3rd Annual Friends of The Winchendon School Golf Outing, hosted at the beautiful Oak Hill Country Club. Join fellow alumni, parents, and friends for a day of golf, camaraderie, and fun on one of the area’s premier courses. Shotgun start at 10:00 AM with registration and breakfast beginning at 8:30 AM.

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just out for a casual round, this outing offers the perfect mix of friendly competition and socializing. Enjoy on-course games, prizes, and a delicious post-round cocktail reception where you can celebrate your shots—or laugh about the ones that didn’t quite make it!
