Q:

What is Maunalei Giving Day?

A:

Maunalei Giving Day is Seabury Hall’s 24-hour celebration of community and giving. It’s a day where alumni, families, faculty, students, and friends come together to support the Laulima Fund—which strengthens every student experience, every day.

Q:

When is it?

A:

Maunalei Giving Day takes place on Friday, March 13, 2026. From midnight to midnight, every gift counts toward our shared impact.

Can’t wait until the big day? Early gifts are welcome and will count toward our Maunalei Giving Day totals! Contact us for more details at [email protected].

Q:

How can I participate?

A:

Make a gift—of any size—online, by phone, by mail, or in person. Then help us spread the word! Share your support on social media and encourage others to join in.

Q:

Is my donation tax-deductible?

A:

Yes! Seabury Hall is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. After you give, you’ll receive a confirmation and tax receipt for your records.

Q:

Where does my gift go?

A:

Your gift on Maunalei Giving Day goes directly to the Laulima Fund, supporting every student, every teacher, and every program at Seabury Hall. It’s the most flexible fund that makes possible the EPIC opportunities and experiences that define a Seabury education—and the most impactful way to make a difference, right now and every day.

Q:

Can I sponsor a Giving Day challenge?

A:

Yes! Challenge sponsors play a special role in helping us build excitement and momentum throughout the day. If you’re interested in creating a Giving Day Challenge with a gift of $2,000 or more, we’d love to connect. Please contact Christine Christensen, Director of Annual Giving, at [email protected] or 808-442-6192—or visit the Challenges page to Create Your Challenge Gift. Mahalo for inspiring others to give!

Q:

What is a challenge gift?

A:

A challenge gift is a creative and impactful way to motivate others to give. It’s a commitment—usually $2,000 or more—that’s unlocked when a specific goal is met. For example, you might pledge a challenge gift if 100 alumni give in honor of Cooper House’s 100th year.

Challenge gifts can be based on grade-level participation, current parent involvement, alumni decades, faculty and staff giving, or any part of Seabury that’s meaningful to you. They bring energy, friendly competition, and greater giving to Maunalei Giving Day.
