What is the Annual Fund?
At Seabury Hall, the Laulima Annual Fund is at the heart of our philanthropic efforts. It plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations that keep our school exceptional. From academic innovation and passionate faculty to enriching arts, athletics, and financial aid, gifts to the Annual Fund make an immediate difference in the lives of our students and the strength of our community.
Because Annual Fund gifts are used in the same year they’re given, they fuel our mission in real time ensuring excellence is more than a goal - it’s a lived experience for every student.
These gifts provide flexible support for the programs and priorities that matter most: academics, faculty development, financial aid, the arts, athletics, technology, and campus care. It’s what helps make Seabury Hall not just a school, but a thriving community.
Why it Matters
Tuition alone doesn’t cover the full scope of what makes a Seabury Hall education exceptional. The Laulima Annual Fund provides the vital, flexible support that allows us to enrich every aspect of school life - from classroom innovation and faculty development to financial aid and campus enhancements.
These gifts help ensure that Seabury remains both excellent and accessible, allowing us to welcome a diverse and talented student body while maintaining the high standards that define our community.
The success of the Annual Fund depends on the collective support across our ‘ohana - from alumni and families to faculty, staff, and friends of Seabury. Participation reflects our shared belief in the power of a Seabury education and sets a meaningful example for future generations.
Where Does my Gift Go?
Annual Fund contributions are unrestricted, which means they go where they’re needed most - supporting the people, programs, and priorities that shape the Seabury Hall experience. This includes faculty salaries and classroom support, student activities and enrichment, the arts and athletics, campus and technology improvements, health and safety enhancements, and need-based financial aid.
Each year, the school’s leadership team works closely with the Finance Committee to ensure these funds are directed toward current-year priorities across all divisions - where they will have the greatest and most immediate impact.
The Importance of Participation
Participation is about unity and shared purpose. Every gift - no matter the amount - demonstrates that we believe in our students and in the future of Seabury Hall.
When faculty, staff, and families give together, it reflects the strength of our community and our collective commitment to excellence. It’s a visible expression of support for a Seabury education - one that has earned recognition as a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School and holds memberships with respected organizations like the National Association of Independent Schools, the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, and the National Association of Episcopal Schools.
Even families receiving financial aid are encouraged to participate, and many of our most meaningful gifts come from those who give out of deep gratitude and love for Seabury. When we all come together - when laulima is in action - we uplift the entire community.
