Can students attend the event?
This is an adult-only, 21+ event. There will be a 175th Anniversary community event in the spring intended for the whole family.
Are my 175th Anniversary Gala tickets tax-deductible?
No, by law, ticket purchases are not tax-deductible because your ticket covers the fair market value of your meal, entertainment, and event services.
Can I become a sponsor and what are the benefits?

I see there is going to be a Raise the Paddle during the event? What is Raise the Paddle?
After dinner, we will invite you to participate in our Raise the Paddle live donation appeal. When your desired giving level is called, simply raise your bid number on the back of your program to make a direct tax-deductible gift!
How will Notre Dame use my donation?
Your generosity powers tuition assistance, academic programs, top-tier faculty, and dynamic co-curriculars like robotics, athletics, and the arts.
For the Raise the Paddle donation, what are my options for payment?
During event registration, please register your credit card, which can be used to pay for your donation. Or, if you prefer to pay with a check or DAF, we can invoice you after the event.
I cannot attend the event, can I still make a donation?
Yes, visit our donation page to make a gift in support of our students. Every contribution makes a difference, and we are grateful for your generosity and support!
Where is the 175th Anniversary Gala located?
The event will take place at Hayes Mansion, 200 Edenvale Ave, San Jose
Is there parking available?
On-site parking is available and free. If you decide to book a room at the hotel, overnight parking is $22 per night plus tax.
Are there hotel rooms available at Hayes the night of the 175th Anniversary Gala?
Yes, guests will have the option of booking a room at a special 15% discounted rate at Hayes Mansion, available only during the weekend of the event. Please use this link to access the special rate and reserve your room.
What is the dress code for the event?
This is a formal event. We recommend formal or cocktail attire.
Can I submit my guest names and meal preferences at a later date?
Yes! If we have not received your guest names, meal preferences, and/or seating requests, we’ll send reminders. Please note that all guest information is due to the Events team by Friday, Oct. 2. If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected] or 408-294-1113 x 2180.
What will be served for dinner?
Guests will begin with a Baby Kale Salad featuring shredded pear, pomegranate, pecans, dried currants, butternut squash, and goat cheese.
Guests may then select one of three entrée options:
- Grilled Petite Filet Mignon - Tillamook white cheddar mashed potatoes, glazed baby carrots, and Cabernet reduction. (GF)
- Seared Skuna Bay Salmon - braised lentils, broccolini, and Romesco sauce. (GF)
- Spaghetti Squash Primavera - fresh seasonal vegetables sautéed in Arrabbiata sauce. (GF, Vegan, Vegetarian)
Dessert & Dessert Bar
Dessert: Brown Butter Apple Tart, Caramel Sauce (Vegetarian)
Dessert Bar: We will serve dessert bites and coffee/tea on the terrace after the program concludes.

Will there be a hosted bar?
Yes, a full, hosted bar will be available during the cocktail hour and dinner. Wine will be provided at each table during dinner.
Is there an after-party?
After dinner and the program, we will enjoy live music and a dessert bar on the terrace.
