What does my generosity support?
Your donation supports MMFS in maintaining the excellence of our academically rigorous programs, recruitment and retention of the best faculty, and sustain the growth of our school. The MMFS Annual Fund helps to extend financial assistance to families; support faculty professional development; strengthen athletics and arts programs; and provide the most current technologies to our students.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! Mary McDowell Friends School is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our tax identification number is 11-3020868.
Why do we need The MMFS Annual Fund?
Tuition does not cover the full cost of a MMFS education and MMFS provides tuition assistance to 40-45% of our families. Thus, the MMFS Annual Fund helps us close the gap to support our athletics, arts, professional development, faculty, specialists, extra-curriculars, and much more - everything that makes a MMFS education life-changing for our students.
Can I make a pledge and pay later?
Yes! Pledges can be made to support the MMFS Annual Fund. However, pledges must be paid in full by June 30th, 2026, which coincides with the end of the school’s fiscal year.
What is the difference between unrestricted and restricted giving?
Unrestricted giving means that your donation goes directly to the overall and general MMFS annual fund. The Annual Fund is our annual giving program, where your donation is needed most to allow MMFS to maintain the excellence of our academically rigorous program, support our faculty and staff, and sustain the growth of our school. Restricted giving counts towards one of our five buckets, which includes:
- Faculty and Staff Development
- Financial Assistance
- Arts
- Athletics
- Technology Operations
Can I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?
A gift to MMFS Annual Fund is a thoughtful and generous way to honor or remember a special person or event. A note will be sent to the individual or family you have honored; the amount of the gift will not be disclosed.
