Centennial Campaign
Today, we give for the future of Country Day.
The Centennial Campaign invests in the Places, Programs, and People that define our community. At the heart of this effort is The Hub—a visionary facility that empowers students to create, collaborate, and lead with confidence.
We already pay tuition. Why give more?
Tuition covers about 86% of the cost of a Country Day education, providing the core classroom experience. Philanthropic gifts fund the remaining 14% and allow us to go beyond—supporting programs like experiential education, service learning, flexes and clubs, and ensuring small class sizes, exceptional arts, and athletics. Giving enriches your child’s experience while benefiting the entire school community, creating opportunities that tuition alone cannot provide.
How do I name a space within The Hub?
If you’d like to name a space with a gift of $25,000 or more, please reach out to Lindsay McCreary at [email protected] to learn about available opportunities before they’re gone!
What if my child will graduate before the new building is complete?
It’s true your child may not directly benefit from every new space. But they’re already benefiting from the vision and generosity of families who came before you. Now, it’s your turn to pay it forward and help build what’s next.
The lifelong benefits of being part of the LJCDS community extend well beyond graduation. The connections between alumni, families, and students only grow stronger over time. Sustaining that legacy requires ongoing investment in the people, programs, and spaces that bring our mission to life.
What are the specific Impact Programs within The Hub and how will they benefit my student?
The Hub for Human Impact brings together programs that prepare students to thrive as engaged global citizens:
- Center for Community, Culture and Belonging – nurtures empathy, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
- Center for Excellence in Citizenship – cultivates civic responsibility, ethical decision-making, and leadership.
- Media Literacy – equips students to think critically, evaluate information, and create responsibly.
- Service Learning – connects classroom learning to meaningful community service and impact.
- Global Programs – expands perspectives through international experiences and cross-cultural exchange.
What is the Country Day Fund?
LJCDS families are asked to make an annual gift to support the school’s top priorities with a special focus on Programs that enhance the student experience. These gifts allow school leadership to respond to the most immediate needs and help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a Country Day education—a difference of approximately $3,500 per student.
Annual gifts to Programs (Country Day Fund) help fuel dynamic learning experiences that prepare leaders, igniting student passions, accelerating learning, and nurturing the curiosity. Because these funds are allocated for the following academic year, they must be renewed annually to ensure continued strength and impact.
What’s the difference between restricted and unrestricted gifts?
Restricted gifts go to specific purposes; unrestricted gifts allow the school to direct funds to where they’re needed most. The latter is the most flexible and impactful.
Can my small gift really matter?
Absolutely. Independent schools have small donor pools and big needs. Your participation helps raise large totals and signals community strength. If 100 families each gave $500, that would significantly help move our needle!
