Q:

Do I need to be a grandparent to attend?

A:

Not at all! This day is also for aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, and any other special adults in your student’s life.

Q:

What can I expect?

A:

The morning will be filled with music, art, connections, and glimpses into the learning taking place at Live Oak.

Light breakfast and coffee will be offered beginning at 8:30am.

The opening assembly with musical performances and guest speakers will take place on the rooftop at 9:00am. Classroom time will follow with opportunities for a photo to commemorate the occasion built in.

Q:

When should I arrive?

A:

Check-in will begin at 8:30am with optional tours of the school available.

Opening assembly will begin at 9:00am.

Q:

Is there parking at school?

A:

Live Oak School does not have any dedicated parking. 4-hour street parking can be found around Jackson Park and some of the surrounding streets. Ride share is encouraged.

We will also have staff members available to assist guests who are dropped off right in front of the school’s main entrance on Mariposa Street.

Q:

Is the building ADA accessible?

A:

Elevator access is available for guests. We will do our best to accommodate other needs. Please email Lily Panetta at [email protected] if you will be needing additional assistance or have any questions.

Q:

What time is dismissal?

A:

The school day ends for everyone at 11:30am.

There will be Extended Day Programs with lunch provided for kids participating for the day. Advance sign up is required. Parents/guardians can visit the EDP resource tile for more info.

Q:

I have a dietary restriction; who do I share that with?

A:

Live Oak is a nut free environment. In addition, breakfast options will include gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. If you have questions, please contact Lily at [email protected]

Q:

I'm arriving late; what should I do?

A:

Email Lily Panetta, [email protected], to let her know. When you arrive, you can check in at the front desk.

Q:

I'm a parent/guardian, how can I support?

A:

Parent and guardians can support the day’s festivities by volunteering to serve as greeters, tour guides, photographers, and support registration during the event. Keep an eye out for more information from PGA Leads, Bita Aminibadi P’33 and John Norris P’26,’30.

Additionally, as parking is limited, coordinating transportation for your students’ guests helps the day run smoothly.
