Day of Giving 2026
Join us on 11/11 to celebrate generousity at Live Oak! Check back for more content and ways to unlock additional support for the School.
What is the Day of Giving and why does it matter?
The Day of Giving on November 11, 2026 is a joyful community celebration of philanthropy at Live Oak. It brings together families, alumni, trustees, grandparents, and friends in support of the learning that takes place on Mariposa. Live Oak doesn’t host a gala or an auction, so this is the day each year when the power of philanthropy is front and center. Every gift, no matter the size, moves us closer to our annual goals and helps unlock additional support.
What are our goals this year?
We’re aiming for 100% family participation and $1million raised. Full participation shows that the people closest to Live Oak are committed to it, and that matters to the foundations and friends who decide where to direct their giving.
What is the Live Oak Fund?
The Live Oak Fund is our annual, unrestricted fund. Gifts keep classrooms vibrant and responsive, and they invest in the teachers and programs that bring learning to life. Because the Fund is unrestricted, the school can respond to community needs as they arise. Learn more about why Live Oak fundraises.
I am an eight grade parent, how can I participate?
Families of eighth graders give to the Class of 2027 Legacy Gift instead of the Live Oak Fund, and those gifts count toward family participation. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.
How much should I give?
We ask each family to make one gift to the school each year. Gifts range from $10 to $50,000, and every one counts toward participation. Choose an amount that’s meaningful for your family.
How can I give?
- Credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, or Google Pay via the Day of Giving form
- Check, mailed to Live Oak School or dropped off at the front desk
- Stock transfer (see instructions here)
- Donor Advised Fund recommendation
Do I have to give all at once?
No. You can give now, make a gift in installments, or pledge now and give later. All payments are due by June 15, 2027.
Why give or pledge in the Fall?
Gifts and pledges made by December 31 help us plan strategically for next year’s budget, which supports Adjusted Tuition (more than $4million a year), faculty and staff salaries and benefits, and investments in student skills and teaching teams, including professional development and schoolwide Think:Kids training.
I already made a gift or pledge this year. Does it count?
Yes. All gifts and pledges made on or before November 11 count towards the Day of Giving.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Live Oak School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID 94-2153158. Donors receive a receipt by email after giving.
Can I request a matching gift from my employer?
