Resources for Related Services

Support our students’ academic, social, and emotional success by contributing towards essential supplies for our speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. Your donation also goes towards the larger School Challenge.

Examples of your gift at work include:

  • $15 Phonics card games for Lower and Middle Schoolers to reinforce phonics and reading skills with fun.
  • $22 Sensory mats with assorted textures to keep students in all divisions focused, calm, and relaxed.
  • $30 Reversible sequin wall panels, which can paint a variety of images and letters to engage students creativity while also promoting focused learning.
  • $60 Subscription to The Week Junior Magazine, which inspires 8- to 14-year-olds to discuss the news of the week with their parents, teachers, and friends
  • $75 Set of 10 Phonic books in the Talisman 2 series, a fantasy/adventure story that teaches alternative vowel and consonant spellings, Latin suffixes, and variant spellings to Middle Schoolers
  • $85 Talisman card deck, a collection of illustrated cards that Middle School students can use to play a game that practices phonic skills.

  • $99 Set of 10 Phonic Books that make up the Amber Guardians series, a set of longer stories that build reading stamina and motivate middle school readers.

  • $199 Nex Playground - A NEX Playground is great for Lab students utilizing OT services because it makes students move, learn, and have fun at the same time. The motion-based games help students practice gross motor skills, balance, coordination, and sensory processing in an engaging way. It also supports social skills like turn-taking and teamwork, since multiple students can play together. The OT’s can easily adjust the games to fit different ages and abilities, making it useful for many goals. Because it feels like play instead of work, students are more motivated to participate.

About

At The Lab School of Washington, we embrace differences as advantages. Our mission is fueled by the belief that our students’ brains are exactly as they should be. We stand firm in this belief because we understand that our students’ journeys to empowerment can come with many challenges, but with empathy, patience, and above all, kindness, our students thrive.

December 2nd is Giving Tuesday, we hope you will join us in making an extra effort to be kind. Every gift made in our 2025 Giving Tuesday campaign is a unique and individual kind act that is exponential. It becomes robotics supplies, therapy resources, and experiential learning outside of the classroom. All gifts, no matter the size, create a ripple effect that strengthens our community and gives our students the power to change the world.
