Is there a dress code?
Yes. All participants in the golf outing must wear a collared shirt and a mid-thigh length short or skirt or full-length pant. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. T-shirts, tank tops, halters, and short shorts, cut-offs cargo shorts, cargo pants, jogging outfits or terry cloth shorts are not permitted at RVCC. Gentlemen are required to remove their hats in all Club dining rooms and bar areas.
RVCC is a “spike-less” golf course and all players must wear appropriate soft spike golf shoes. Nongolf shoes of any kind are not allowed on the golf course.
Will Mulligans be offered?
Each foursome can purchase a maximum of five mulligans at $10 each before play begins. Mulligans may be used however the foursome chooses during play. Foursomes cannot purchase more than the original five chances. Mulligans may not be used for any hole challenge contests or when putting.
Can non-golfers attend the dinner or awards reception?
Yes! Dinner-only tickets are available for purchase.
Will there be a trophy presentation for the winners?
For the first time in recent memory, we will be holding an official trophy ceremony. The champions will have their names engraved into the Spartan Cup, cementing their place in Spartan history.
When will the Mackie Award be presented?
In a change from the last outing the Mackie award will be presented to this year’s recipient at dinner. Make sure to stick around, you won’t want to miss it!
Can I purchase an indivudal chance to Beat the Spartan?
No, the Beat the Spartan contest is open to all foursomes. The score recorded by the foursome counts like any other hole. However, if any member of the foursome beats the Spartan, the group earns a chance to win great prizes.
Are golfer registrations or sponsorships tax deductible?
A small portion of golfer registrations is tax deductible. Please contact the Advancement Department if you wish to receive a tax-deductible acknowledgment. Sponsorships are not tax deductible because services are exchanged for payment.
