What is the difference between underwriting and sponsorship?
A:
Underwriting is a philanthropic gift which is fully tax deductible. It does not include any benefits, such as tickets, that have a fair market value (FMV). Sponsorship, on the other hand, does include benefits, so only the portion over and above the FMV of those benefits is tax deductible.
