Blue and White Fund - Current Parents
Join fellow Gulf Stream School parents by making a gift to the 2020-2021 Blue and White Fund.
Why should I give to the Blue & White Fund?
Gifts to the Blue and White Fund provide Gulf Stream with the most flexibility to attend to the school’s greatest and most immediate areas of need. Every year, we prioritize special projects, teacher requests, and programmatic needs. Blue and White Fund gifts help us realize those goals and fulfill the high expectations of our students, parents, and faculty.
How much should I give?
This a personal decision for each individual or family. Gulf Stream School has many fewer supporters than a secondary school, university, or larger charities. Because the number who will give is small but the need is large, every gift counts more. This reasoning leads many families to make Gulf Stream School their philanthropic priority. Leadership level giving starts at $1,500, but we receive gifts that range from $10 to over $50,000. Your investment makes a huge difference at GSS and it is greatly appreciated.
Why do the faculty, trustees, and other leadership groups on campus achieve 100% and give early every year?
They LOVE this school and the value it brings to the each family and our community. These gifts directly and immediately support the students, faculty, and programs that make Gulf Stream School so special. This means continued small classes, the best teachers, and resources beyond what other schools offer. Individualized learning, new technology, professional development, financial aid, and exceptional academic, artistic, and athletic programs all benefit from this annual effort.
Why doesn't tuition cover expenses related to maintaining and improving the quality of a Gulf Stream School experience?
Increasing tuition would make attendance unaffordable for some and might discourage prospective families from considering Gulf Stream as a viable option for their child(ren). Minimizing tuition increases ensures that the School can retain, attract, and potentially enroll the area’s best students.
What do the Class Representatives do?
Class Representatives are parents who have volunteered to assist others with the Blue and White Fund. They are class ambassadors who serve as a valuable resource to anyone with questions or concerns. They make early and often leadership level gifts in addition to the time and energy they commit to supporting their children’s school. Please consider rewarding their efforts and make sure to thank them for helping your child’s school.
Why is 100% participation so important?
We are building a culture of philanthropy, which is a common sense of responsibility for supporting Gulf Stream. Also, there is a direct correlation between percentage of participation and the amount of money raised. Typically, higher participation translates into more financial success. Finally, other donors often look at the level of participation as a measure of an institution’s health and future potential. Donors considering gifts want to be sure their investment will have a positive impact in the future rather than being used to cover a debt, pay a bill, or simply keep an organization afloat.
We typically give near the end of the School year. Can we wait until then?
Certainly. In order to include you as a participant, all we need now is a pledge. It can be honored any time prior to June 30th. To make a pledge contact the Development Office.
