The 100 Gifts in 100 Days Parent Challenge

The annual fund—aka the Fund for Falmouth Academy—supplements tuition revenue and provides money for the school’s current-year operating expenses. Annual gifts make up the difference between what tuition covers and the actual cost of running the school. It pays for items such as faculty salaries and benefits, educational technology and equipment, and professional development opportunities. It also helps pay for critical infrastructure improvements and provides support when unexpected expenses arise.

Tuition alone doesn’t cover all of the opportunities your student receives at FA. That’s why independent schools like ours rely on fundraising and other external revenue sources to balance our annual budgets. Currently, our annual fund supports approximately 11% of the school’s annual operating costs. That translates to nearly $2,400 of every student’s learning experience each year being supported by gifts to the Fund for Falmouth Academy.

Your gift supports the people and programs that make FA so special: talented teachers; small classes; individualized academic support; accommodations for different learning styles; and exceptional offerings in everything from the arts to athletics.

All independent schools aim for 100% parent participation in the annual fund. High participation is a huge vote of confidence and an important sign that all parents are invested in and support the school’s mission. This percentage can also have an impact on gifts from outside sources; most private foundations consider parent participation rates before donating major funds to a school.
