Who donates to the Annual Fund?
Donors to the Annual Fund include the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni families, corporations, foundations, and friends of EB.
Do donations support particular school programs?
Generally, no. Gifts to the Annual Fund provide a portion of the school’s annual operating revenues and are unrestricted. This allows our Board of Trustees to identify and prioritize expenditures in a systematic and thoughtful manner, taking into account all of the school’s needs. As such, each gift to the Annual Fund can be said to benefit every student and every school program. However, if you wish to specify an area of support for your gift, you can do so by assigning a specific designation.
Can I choose which EB value my gift supports?
Yes — you can tell us which value speaks to you most: Curiosity, Courage, Compassion, or Community. This helps us understand what matters to our families and share the stories and updates that match what inspired your gift. Every gift to the Annual Fund is unrestricted — your selection isn’t a restriction on how the funds are used, it’s simply a way to let us know what resonates with you, and the school allocates all Annual Fund gifts where they’re needed most.
What's the deadline?
All Annual Fund gifts and pledges must be received by June 30, 2027.
Can I pay my gift in installments?
Yes — the Giving Form lets you split your total into installments (monthly, quarterly, or a custom schedule) instead of paying all at once.
What ways can I give?
Check, online, recurring monthly gift, stock, DAF, crypto, or a pledge to fulfill later.
Can I donate stock?
Yes! We accept publicly-traded stocks. When you give stock, not only does it save you money by giving you a tax break, but also makes your dollar go further and gives EB more funding. Learn more at https://www.eb.org/gifts-of-stock
Where do I send a check?
École Bilingue de Berkeley, Development Office, 1009 Heinz Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94710.
Does my company match gifts?
Many employers do, sometimes doubling or tripling your gift’s impact. Both the Giving Form and the Pledge Form include a built-in lookup to check if your employer matches gifts — submitting it there notifies us automatically so we can attribute the match to your profile and make sure the matching funds are received.
What is Leadership Giving?
Gifts at the Consul level ($2,700+) and above are considered Leadership Giving and include invitations to events with the Head of School and Board of Trustees.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes! Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley is a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record.
Do other schools have Annual Fund campaigns?
Yes, they do. As with nearly all independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of an EB education. Asking for donations is common practice to allow families to give at levels that best suit their financial situation and provide a tax benefit. The Annual Fund provides crucial funds for the operating year in which the funds are given.
What's the difference between the Giving Form and the Pledge Form?
The Giving Form always includes a donation — a payment today, either in full or as the first installment. The Pledge Form does not collect payment — it records your commitment to give a specific amount by June 30, 2027.
