About
The ELCA Horizon Project is an initiative to raise money for students who may not be able to financially cover the expenses of ELCA’s World Impact mission trips or immersion trips. Through The Horizon Project, all ELCA students (Pre-school through 12th grade) may purchase a sweatshirt, sweatpants, and/or a week of wearing sweatpants (date to be determined). Students can wear other ELCA approved sweatpants, not just the Horizon sweatpants during this week.
The Horizon Project sweatpants are approved to wear during PE classes.
Help us reach $25,000 in sales and donations to support World Impact Scholarships! All proceeds will go to scholarships for students who successfully apply for funding through the Horizon Project and are accepted on a World Impact trip.
While mission and immersion trip opportunities are designed for specific grade levels, every ELCA student has the opportunity to make an impact! This is a wonderful way for our entire school community to come together, support our mission outreach efforts, and help create meaningful opportunities for students to serve others, experience new cultures, and broaden their perspectives.
A message from the Founder of The Horizon Project
“Money shouldn’t limit our impact. When financial barriers keep students from participating, we lose more than another person on a trip. We lose the leadership, commitment, and perspective they could have brought. The Horizon Project exists to open those doors and give more students the opportunity to serve, experience the world, and make a meaningful difference.”
-Layla Lewis, ELCA 12th Grader & Horizon Project Founder
