What is the Derby Fund? What does the Derby Fund support?
The Derby Fund is the school’s most vital fundraising source and enhances every aspect of a Derby student experience. It helps bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of education.
The Derby Fund supports the overall student experience, even a virtual one. During this particular period, Derby Fund is supporting distance learning applications, faculty salaries and online professional development workshops, materials, devices, and video editing tools that our families are using from their homes, financial assistance, and so much more!
Who can participate in Derby's Giving Week?
The short answer: anyone! Whether you’ve made a gift to the School this fiscal year or not, you can be counted in this campaign by making a gift between 12:00am on Sunday, May 24 and 11:59pm midnight on Saturday, May 30. All gifts mailed to the school with a postmark between these times will also be counted!
When is Madam Sarah Derby's Birthday and why are we celebrating now?
Madam Derby’s birthday is April 18. This year she would be turning 306 years young. We had originally planned to do a Giving Day in honor of her birthday in April. We decided, however, to postpone the celebration and focus on The Derby Cares Initiative.
When is the deadline to give?
The deadline to be part of this Giving Week is midnight on Saturday, May 30. The deadline to participate in the 2019-2020 Derby Fund is June 30, 2020. If you are in a position to make a voluntary gift to Derby this fiscal year, we hope that you will.
