My mother was first generation Sicilian-American. She stressed the importance of education and her entire family enlisted in World War II because they left a country at the time, in chaos and instability. Her father was a pilot, and tested B-17 Bombers before they were sent off, usually flown by women ( WASPS) Women Air Service Pilots. My boss is a pilot. He said that I would make an excelkent pilot because I constantly look at what cpuld go wrong. My Beaumont education in the Arts under Sr. Lucia and Sr. Ann, has added Equine faculties to that.

The unparalleled level of sisterhood among generations of women. A few years back, I had a lumpectomy. As a single mom, I didn't know what I would do. My classmate watched my son while I had surgery and recovered. Her older sister made me the best soup and sandwiches. My friends checked in on me, and I received a card from President Hoke. That level of checking in, 15 years after I graduated, meant the world to me.
