The Heart of the Pack is a collaborative, student-created 3D wolf sculpture that beautifully represents unity, belonging, and community at Valley Charter Elementary School.
Built on a cardboard armature and brought to life with papier-mâché and acrylic paint, this striking wolf is made even more special by the hundreds of small paper hearts that form its body. Each heart was individually decorated by a VCES student with words, patterns, and symbols expressing what their school community means to them. Once sealed and assembled, these hearts came together to create a powerful symbol of connection, strength, and collective spirit.
This piece is truly one of a kind. It captures the voices and creativity of our entire student body in a single work of art.
The Heart of the Pack is more than a sculpture. It’s a living snapshot of this school year and a lasting reminder of the love and community that defines VCES.
This special project was supported by our wonderful art teacher, Kristin Malko, proprietor of “My Art Studio”, whose guidance made this piece possible.
