Your second through fourth grader is sure to want to be part of this “Poplar” exprience! Each year, Mrs. Grant’s Lower School science classroom fosters a diamondback terrapin in partnership with Maryland Environmental Service and the Port of Baltimore’s T.E.R.P. program. Participants in this trip will travel by boat to Poplar Island to release this year’s terrapin (arriving this week). Your student will see ecosystem restoration in action and practice real-world data collection skills. Students will be selected at random based on the number of tickets purchased, so buy as many tickets as you’d like to increase your student’s odds of participating!
